Visakhapatnam: In an effort to enhance community safety and well-being, Vizag Runners, a local NGO for health and wellness and Apollo Hospitals, Visakhapatnam conducted a basic life support training programme.

The initiative was aimed at addressing the alarming episodes of sudden cardiac death, especially among young individuals during workouts. The event, which took place at Sreeram Panorama Hills, saw participation from 80 enthusiastic individuals. Attendees were given vital insights into handling emergency situations such as falls or cardiac arrests. The program focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to react swiftly and effectively.

During the session, experts from Apollo Hospitals provided hands-on experience with CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) techniques using dummy structures. Participants gained practical knowledge, enabling them to respond confidently in critical moments.

Vizag Runners, in partnership with Apollo Hospitals, has taken up the noble cause of educating the community to save lives. The initiative is part of their preparation for the Sandhya Marine Vizag Marathon, the flagship event scheduled for December 17. By empowering individuals with life-saving skills, they aim to create a safer environment where everyone can contribute to the well-being of others.
